BPW Geelong - November White Ribbon Event
Danielle's story began at age 10 when her aunt taught her to knit. It was love at first stitch.
As director of handKnits Pty Ltd (Sydney) and DCAJ Textures Private Ltd (India), Danielle oversees the production of elegant and individual luxury hand-knitted garments through the sustainable and ethical Women and Progress (WAP) venture.
Garments are made from the highest quality Australian Merino wool by women artisans who live in rural villages of India. Most of them have little education and left school at the age of 14.
Kimberley Johnson-Baxter has gone from a long career in Retail Buying to creating a whole new career, Syle and Image expert of her own Company 'Kimba JB Accessories Pty Ltd'.
When people started to ask her what accessories they needed to go with a certain outfit - shoes, bag, jewellery, Kimba realised she wanted to share her insights and experience to assist women.
Kimba's philosophy is that everyone deserves to feel confident and fabulous no matter their size, shape or age.
This event is raising money for Minerva Community Services
Minerva Community Services Geelong provides information and support to women and their dependent children, who have experienced family violence.
The service also provides access to high security refuge accommodation to women assessed as being at high risk of further harm.
