Grant Writing / Business Case Development Workshops

The Federal Government's Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) will open for applications in January 2017.  The BBRF will invest $297.7 million over four years in infrastructure projects and community investments to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. Grants are available through two funding streams.

The Infrastructure Projects Stream will provide funding for projects which involve the construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.  Applications for the Infrastructure Projects Stream open on 18 January 2017 and close on 28 February 2017.

The Community Investments Stream will fund community building activities including, but not limited to, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, and leadership and capability building activities. These projects will deliver economic and social benefits to regional and remote communities. Applications for the Community Investments Stream open on 18 January 2017 and close on 31 March 2017.

Grant Writing and Business Case Workshops

An important step in securing a grant through the BBRF is the preparation of a compelling business case. As we work towards the opening of Round One, the RDA BSW is pleased to offer its support by hosting three workshops in Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool to assist participants in developing Business Cases which support grant applications.

The workshops have been designed to assist with:

·        Defining the project outcomes

·        How to engage with key partners and stakeholders in the planning process

·        How to acquire the evidence required to support the need of the project

·        How to communicate a business case effectively in writing, the investment logic and return for investment

·        How to compare costs and advantages of alternative solutions

·        How to develop a Risk Management Plan

·        Project timeline and key milestones

The workshops are free of charge and will provide an opportunity for representatives from your organisation to enhance their skills and have a better understanding of how to develop a compelling business case to support a grant application to the Building Better Regions Fund.
