About the Instructor

Catherine Toms Photo

Smithfield Digital

Catherine is a Lead Instructor for GA in Melbourne, Australia and co-founder of Smithfield Digital; whose mission is to grow startups and small businesses by crafting powerful digital footprints that cut through the clutter online.

In a former life, Catherine spent almost 20 years agency-side in the digital space in London & Sydney. Working alongside a whole bunch of talented, industry experts she designed and implemented award-winning digital marketing campaigns for big, well-known clients dotted around the globe. Her last years in corporate world were incredible, but all consuming.

So in April 2014, she did the scariest and as it turns out, greatest thing ever. Jumped off the conveyor belt to travel the world with her young family, find freedom and discover the lucky lifestyle of a digital nomad.

Recently resettled in Melbourne Catherine shares her digital capabilities with a growing tribe of creative, entrepreneurial businesses at Smithfield Digital. She also teaches workshops and courses at General Assembly, including Digital Marketing and How to succeed as a Digital Nomad.

When not immersed in the latest digital happenings she’s likely to be finding new places to indulge her coffee addiction & hanging out with her family by the beach in Bayside, Melbourne.
